Why storage matters
Store yerba mate in a dry, dark place, in a tightly sealed container or a bag with a proper closure — moisture and light are what steal its aroma fastest. Keep it away from the stove and sunny windowsills, and avoid the fridge, since mate easily picks up moisture and smells from other food. Stored well, an opened pack keeps its flavour for 6–12 months.
